OBJECTS OF TENSION AND RELEASE

Presented by the Open Street Collective in roadside galleries on King St in Toronto, ON, and various neighbourhoods in Guelph, ON.

Objects of Tension and Release questions and materializes the structure of a grid that is so present in the surrounding architecture of downtown Toronto. The grid is brought into a way of being that is both soft and hard; rigid and limp; giving and receiving of form.

Objects of Tension and Release, 2019. Handwoven cotton cloth, drywall tape, wire mesh, sand, cheesecloth, concrete rubble.
